Hunan Yellow Tea Yellow Diamond is our tribute to the legendary Junshan Yinzhen — one of the rarest and most misunderstood teas in the world. While many sellers claim to offer authentic Junshan Island tea, the truth is that genuine island-grown leaves are produced in microscopic quantities on state-owned plantations in Dong Ting Lake, Hunan.
 
The island itself covers less than one square kilometre, and the tea grown there is reserved almost exclusively for government officials and collectors, fetching prices that often exceed $1000 per 100g. Our Yellow Diamond comes instead from Pingjiang, a small area near Junshan Island, sharing the same lake climate and soil character. Produced entirely by hand, it captures the essence of true Junshan Yinzhen — without the excessive prestige pricing or false marketing claims that dominate the market.
 
This is a true Yellow Tea, made through a delicate moist-heating process that gently “yellows” the leaves, creating a flavour both bright and creamy. Expect notes of sweetcorn, spring flowers, soft fruits, and roasted nuts, layered over a crisp mountain-mineral freshness that lingers beautifully in the finish.
