IMMERSIVE GONG FU TEA EXPERIENCE

In this episode, we’ll also host a Gong Fu Tea immersive experience — a calm, mindful way to discover tea as a sensory journey. It’s not a workshop or ceremony, but a relaxed introduction to traditional Chinese brewing: higher leaf-to-water ratio, shorter steeps, and pure taste. We’ll brew a small but exceptional selection of teas sourced from small producers across China, Japan and Taiwan — Alishan and GABA oolongs, baked Tie Guan Yin, aged white tea cakes, and ripe pu-erh.Perfect for slowing down, connecting, and enjoying the moment while the music flows live on Patchouli Deep Radio.

What is Gong Fu Tea?

Gong Fu Cha (工夫茶) is the traditional Chinese way of brewing tea — it literally means “tea made with skill.”Instead of using one big pot, the tea is brewed in small, short infusions using more leaves and less water.

This method brings out the true flavour, aroma and energy of the tea. Each round tastes slightly different as the leaves open, revealing more depth with every pour.

It’s not about ceremony — it’s about taking a moment to slow down and enjoy tea properly.Gong Fu brewing uses high-quality leaves from small producers, so it’s:

  • More flavourful: full taste, balanced and rich.

  • More mindful: encourages calm focus and presence.

  • More efficient: the same leaves can be brewed 8–10 times.

In short, Gong Fu tea isn’t about drinking — it’s about feeling the tea.
